Dr. Danesh is the Director of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Under his leadership, the Division of CME effectively translates leading-edge research into medical practice through educational programs for health care professionals in Indiana and globally via online, satellite, and enduring materials (newsletters, CD ROM and audio recordings). He has a wealth of experience in administering the rigorous ACCME guidelines and standards for CME, evaluating educational outcomes, and implementing innovative educational initiatives. His current interests are:
(1) Participation in Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (ACME);
(2) Involvement in performance improvement (PI) projects and
(3) Development of training for IUSM faculty.

As an educator with over twenty years of experience, Dr. Danesh has a systems approach to evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs. He has collaborated with Indiana University School of Medicine faculty, Indiana state health officials and healthcare partnerships to assess needs, develop learning objectives, develop survey tools, design evaluation instruments, collect performance data and present summary reports and posters.

Prior to this role, Dr. Danesh was the Assistant Director of CME and was instrumental in strategic planning, academic curriculum planning and fund raising. Key problem solving and strategic planning skills have enabled the department to meet the evolving changes in both ACCME guidelines and new therapeutic treatments to enable physicians to maintain and enhance their care and to improve patient outcomes.

After completion of his Ph.D. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Dr. Danesh was influential in developing new courses for the Indiana University Schools of Business and Education in Bloomington, Indiana. He managed graduate students, developed instructional design, and taught courses such as Teaching How To Teach and Problem-based Learning to faculty.
