Accreditation
Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), as both a premier medical institution and the second largest medical school in the nation, is committed to providing the highest healthcare locally and nationally by promoting innovation and excellence in education, research and patient care. As IUSMs educational service for practicing physicians and other health care professionals, the Division of Continuing Medical Education (CME) reflects this IUSM commitment to excellence and strives to achieve excellence in all of its professional educational programs.
The IUSM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. IUSM strictly adheres to the ACCME Essential Areas and their Elements as its planning framework. All CME-certified programs are carefully planned so as to comply with these requirements.
As an accredited organization, IUSM meets the needs of physician educational concerns through a variety of venues. It collaborates with other medical education providers throughout the nation to offer exemplary learning experiences for today's busy medical practitioners. We have partnered with communications companies, medical research firms, and other medical schools. From traditional courses, to satellite symposia, professional journal publications, CD ROMs, internet opportunities, monographs, video and audio tapes, IUSM is experienced in numerous delivery systems for CME. IUSM has excellent resources and experienced personnel to produce educational products in all of these formats. Further, IUSMs nationally known faculty members are content experts with the research and clinical expertise needed to produce the highest quality CME.
The IUSM CME is accredited through November, 2017.
